The take
Next Play is a newsletter, which sounds like an odd thing on a list of tools. It's here because it does the one thing job boards can't: it puts a name on every opportunity. Ben Lang collects who's hiring, who's raising, who's looking for a co-founder, and sends it out with the person to contact.
The openings are often early. A team that just closed a round and needs its first three hires will show up here weeks before a posting exists. Reply to the person, keep it to a few lines, and you're in a conversation instead of a queue.
It's also a good way to meet people building things, even when you're not applying to anything. Free to read, with a paid tier if you want more.
